Anatomy of a milk plant code
The type of plant. Often just PLT or missing.
06 is California's state code. Milk product plant numbers from California start with this.
The code identifying the individual plant.
The 06- prefix only appears on milk products. Codes for eggs, meat, and other animal products use different formats and won't have it.
